HOW TO SPEAK TO THE MOUNTAIN

The TMB route: 3 countries, one identity, 10.000 meters in altitude and about 70 hours of walking, 200 km of discovery for a total of 10 days of satisfaction!

This Summer, beginning from the end of June and until the middle of July, I and my partner had the most amazing hiking through the Mont Blanc mountains!

The Tour du Mont Blanc or TMB is one of the most popular long-distance walks in Europe. It circles the Mont Blanc massif, covering a distance of roughly 200 km with 10 km of ascent/descent and passes through parts of Switzerland, Italy, and France. TMB is one of the classic long-distance hiking trails.
The circular route is walked in an anti-clockwise direction. The starting and finishing point is Les Houches in the Chamonix valley, France. The anti-clockwise route leads through the Chamonix (or Arve) valley, then Montjoie, Vallee des Glaciers, Italian Val Veni, Val Ferret, Swiss Val Ferret, and Trient valley in Switzerland. The route passes through seven valleys around the Mont-Blanc massif. The highest points of the trail are the Col des Fours in France and the Fenêtre d'Arpette in Switzerland, both at an altitude of 2,665 m (8,743 ft).

The trail of the TMB moves through wide open green hillsides, the old farmhouses, mountain villages, auberges and huts, wild rivers, ascent/descent and many passes through different valleys. During this short time, while I was walking, the mountains become my real world. The secret of the mountains is that the mountains have no specific meaning, it is part of a wild landscape and it is about living the life of freedom. After this trip, mountains keep me continuously wanting to know more, feel more, see more, and travel more.
